My Friends on the Web

My wife Kristen (nee Kristen Pederson) is working on her own web page in her spare time, which seems to be as copious as mine.

I live across the alley from my godson Daniel West and his parents Tom West (whom I originally met in a lethal first-year analysis course in 1980, and whose home page you may just have discovered isn't really what his name is linked to here, but it's the only web page he maintains, so it'll have to do for now) and his mother, world-renowned fantasy author Michelle Sagara (also met in university, and a member of the infamous poslpeople.

I have other friends from:

• When I was little. Actually, I don't anymore, but it would be weird and interesting to hear from Tracy Thompson, Kevin Hutchings or Joanne Ivany, all of whom I met in Grade 1 or 2 at Fairmeadow Public School and lost touch with when I moved to Japan after Grade 3. Agnes Heydtmann almost counts because we met once when we were little, but we didn't become friends until much later.
• High school and university, who are (to put it politely) distinct enough to merit their own name - the poslpeople - and home page. Justin Bur has designed a minimal home page, so I must now nag him to poslfit it.
• The high school math geek circuit, most of whom have either disappeared or fallen into another category, and none of whom have a web presence yet. Shame on them.
• Six months spent working at the Canadian pavilion at Expo 85 in Tsukuba, some of whom have e-mail but none of whom afaik have home pages yet. Shame on them, too. Especially Alison Motluk. Alan Kastner, I've finally taken note of your home page. On the other hand, Alison has introduced me to many of her friends who attend her annual Motluk Potluck.
• Playing tournament Scrabble® since summer 1993.
• Living on the web, not coincidentally also since summer 1993, mainly now on my crossword game servers MarlDOoM and PoslDOoM, and the MOOs that are their dictionary clients.
