Administrative:

I was the Math Department's Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies from July 2007 through June, 2009. The current Undergrad Chair is J.W. (Mike) Lorimer. In particular, he is the default person to ask for a teaching reference letter. I will agree to write such a letter only if I have some personal knowledge of your teaching that would allow me to write a noticeably stronger letter than the current Undergrad Chair could write.
