Schulenburg was the site this year of the shootout between the Houston, Austin and San Antonio clubs. Houston had 19 people there, Austin had 11, and San Antonio had TA Sanders, so everything was pretty even. It seems everybody in San Antonio was busy this past weekend. Houston took the top spot in all 4 divisions.

All the divisions were hotly contested. In Division A, if I won the last game I could have finished first (had I won by enough margin). As it was, I lost the last game and finished 7th out of 8 in the division aarrgghh). Going into the last game, any one of 5 people could have won the division. Robin Lewis started out 3-0 +578 and held on to win the division with a 4-3 +403 record...on her birthday, no less. She also had the high play for the tourney (167 points) and the high game (555 points). Quite a birthday celebration.

Likewise, all the top positions in Division B were decided by the outcome of the last game. Carole Miller, who started out 4-0 +356, had to win her last game to take the championship with a 5-2 +249 record.

Division C was decided on the last game, with Virgie Wright winning her last game by 59 points to go 7-0 +484. She had to win a KOTH final game over Waheed Thompson to secure the victory.

Division D was also decided on the last game as 3 people had a chance to win that division. Luckily for Judy Newhouse, who lost her last game, her nearest competitors also lost their last games.
